DEFECTIVE DRUGS

There are always going to cases where potentially harmful side effects are caused by certain prescription drugs, which may indeed be defective. Just because a prescription drug has been approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) doesn't mean that it is not going to harm people. Have we not seen the damage caused by drugs such as Vioxx, Seroquel, Zoloft, Celebrex, Accutane, and Zyprexa in the recent past?

Pharmaceutical companies, because of the lengthy and expensive process involved in getting approval from the FDA, often "cut corners" in an attempt to get a green light for putting the drug on the market. And frankly, sometimes a government agency, with all of its red tape, does not function efficiently. This is can have devastating effects indeed for the general public. Sometimes this leads to deaths that are preventable, to say the least. And sickness that results from the harmful side effects can not be ignored.

When this happens, you should not hesitate to assert your rights. If you've paid attention to the news, you'll know that it is nothing unusual for the big pharmaceutical giants like Merck, Pfizer and Eli Lilly & Co. to pay out huge sums of money in settlements to people who have ingested drugs, whether they be prescriptions or over-the-counter products, that cause harm. When the drug companies put a product out there that is defective in any way, you may be able to collect on one of these huge settlements. Remember also, even if you haven't been harmed yourself, you may be eligible to collect because of the overall negligence of the company in question. You are advised to contact our office and we will be happy to let you know about the drugs that are currently the subjection of recalls and/or lawsuits.
